I rode the north bike/Pedestrian/DOT worker/motorcycle/ebike lane on the Queensboro/Ed Koch Bridge today. And yes, all of these were on the lane simultaneously and multiply, aside from just one DOT construction vehicle...but this was Saturday!

I stayed behind two slower riders because I was afraid to pass into the oncoming traffic lane. Several groups of half a dozen or more riders came in the other direction. There were GAS-POWERED motorcycles too!

In other words, a typical Saturday on the most congested East River bridge in the city.

Oh, and I also dodged the chuckholes at half a dozen stormgrates.

The south outer pedestrian lane delay has been so long, some kids have gone through high school and halfway through college since it was first promised. At the rate they're going, I expect they will get their college diplomas before the pedestrian south lane opens.

As for the Triboro/RFK Bridge, it i just as narrow but has 3 stairpush runnels...just for fun. OK, at least they're working on that part on Randall's Island, so they haven't gone past their deadlines...yet. I hope it improves before I get hit...again! The last time, a kid on a fat tired bike popped my front tire like a balloon, then sped off while I had to push my bike to the nearest bike shop in Astoria. Fun times!

We get no respect....
