The Dumbest 3 minutes of your life -- Trump Sundowning

The problem isn't Donald Trump, the problem is Republican voters.

I promised myself I would stick to New York politics, because the federal stuff is just too dumb and frustrating.

But just… how in the hell are we here?

I think maybe this election is so absurd my brain refuses to even process any of it as real.

We have a candidate who's obviously sundowning, to the point his "town halls" -- where people, at least in theory, come to hear him answer candid questions about the nation's most important issues -- are basically indiscernible from open mic night at the high intensity care wing of the old folks home...

...And a lot of people are just... Fine with it?

The problem is not Donald Trump... The problem is Republican voters. The everyday people you know and work with, that are enabling this insanity and slow rolling, cold civil war. Democrats do not have candidates a millionth as bad as Trump or MTG or any of the other wack jobs and fascists -- or at least don't have them for long -- because they actively get rid of them. They’ve gotten rid of an unqualified candidate in this election. A Democratic Trump would have been gone long before the pussy grabbing. But Republicans don't believe in holding their leaders to any standards whatsoever.

The more amoral and stupid the better in fact, because then they might hurt liberals more gleefully, and be even less scrupulous about taking bribes from big corporations.

Nobody wants to say it, but we have a severe idiot problem in America. The idiots have found a way to organize and have coalesced around the Republican party. We have an adult party charged with actually leading and coming up with policy, and a group of toddler-brained idiots hopped up on propaganda and rage trying to destroy everything American they can get their hands on.

Everybody dances around this issue because of the taboo about pointing out differences in intelligence between people, but we simply can't avoid it anymore. Republicans are stupid. "The stupid party" might frankly be giving them too much credit. This is the lobotomy causus. And this matters. We can't afford another Republican attempt to hijack the country with a coup. (Does nobody remember it wasn't just Republican little guys on January 6th, but their senators trying to hijack the peaceful transfer of power as well?)

We must stop being polite. You can't be an American and vote Republican in 2024. A Republican vote is the vote of a traitor.
